Dr. Koulouteris graduated with honours (“Cum Laude”) from the prestigious Szent Györgyi Albert Medical University (University of Szeged) of Hungary in 1999. Following this auspicious start, Dr. Koulouteris achieved the doctoral specialty of ‘General Surgeon’ from the renowned Ippokrateio General Hospital of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2007.

Since 2008, Dr. Koulouteris practices and conducts surgeries as a successful and respected General Surgeon mainly at Ygia Polyclinic, (where he is also a Partner Doctor), as well as in other distinguished Medical Centres with which he collaborates. Ygia Polyclinic is one of the largest hospitals in Cyprus.

Dr. Koulouteris is a GESY doctor: as Ygia Polyclinic is part of the General Healthcare System (GESY), GESY beneficiaries can arrange to see him through GESY. Patients who are not covered by GESY, such as visitors from abroad, can be seen privately.

Throughout his years as a highly qualified and acclaimed General Surgeon, Dr. Koulouteris has achieved specialisations in Laparoscopic Surgery and Minimal Invasive Surgery from numerous global health centres in Greece, France, Scotland and India, while also having qualified for the esteemed title of D.MAS (“Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery”) and F.MAS (“Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery”).

Dr. Koulouteris specialises and exhibits a particular interest in the treatment of diseases of the abdominal wall (“Hernias”) by Laparoscopic Surgery and Open Surgery. In addition, the Doctor has attained medical specialisation in the treatment of haemorrhoids and fistulas by utilising innovative laser technology (“LHP® – Laser HemorrhoidoPlasty Treatment”, “SiLaC® – Sinus Laser Closure for the Pilonidal Sinus Treatment”, “FiLaC® – Fistula Tract Laser Closure Treatment”) and the minimally invasive procedure of VAAFT (“Video-Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment”).

Apart from his distinguished medical interests and specialised knowledge, Dr. Koulouteris conducts all surgeries that are part of his medical specialisation of General Surgery.

These include surgeries for diseases of the breast and thyroid, biliary diseases (such as for gallstones / cholecystitis), as well as for diseases of the stomach, small and large bowel (such as inflammation and tumours), and dermatological ailments which require surgical removal (such as nevi, lipomas, cysts and ingrown nails).

Dr. Koulouteris is considered to be one of the few Doctors in Cyprus specialising in wound management and in the treatment of pressure injuries and ulcers.

Dr. Koulouteris is the current President of the Cyprus Wound Management Society and a board member of the Cyprus Surgical Society, contributing to the advancement of surgical care and wound management in Cyprus.
